Meet the team

I would like to ask you to meet the team of staff we have. Such a dedicated and professional team of people would be very hard to beat. They are quite simply the best.

Business Manager team Kim Barton

Kim has been with the company for years now, and has a wealth of funeral related experience over two decades. She is responsible for the entire company administration from anything related to invoices and payments to insurance, and dealing with all the office staff. Kim does so much more and I can hear here ringing my phone already. I would need a long paragraph to include it all and I am very lucky to have her great ability and her friendship.

Operation and Facilities Management team Lee Hawden

So far, Lee has evaded the lense! However his time will come have no fear. Keep looking over your shoulder Lee! In the meantime. Here is Lee posing whilst collect the keys to the latest fleet. Lee ensures all the physical needs of the company are covered. He makes sure everyone is where they need to be, when they need, and with the correct vehicles and equipment. Again it sounds simple enough, but with five offices and, all the workshop staff, and the great attention to each and every funeral. It’s quite a position. Lee is funeral history in his DNA. In fact if you could snap off a finger you would see ‘I was born a funeral director” running right through him. Highly skilled, and highly prized by the company, you’ll be in safe hands. That’s a promise.

Emma Goble Funeral Director team

Emma has not yet been captured by the roving photographer. So here is a previous photo. Be ready for the updated one!
Here at Medway Funeral Directors, Emma was our first lady Funeral Director. It took a while to get her to put the hat on. All of 30 seconds as I recall. Emma is another one born to be a Funeral Director. She totally loves her job, and I think you will love her too by the end of the first meeting. Confident. Charming. Dedicated. Professional. Maybe she would be a little red faced, but she deserves all the praise. I see so many 5* google reviews for Emma, I can add nothing. When you meet the team, you will be so happy with them.

And of course the company mascot. Emma’s faithful companion Mr Boo! Don’t. It’s all beyond me. And yes, you will certainly meet the little rascal…..

Colin Randall Funeral Director team

Another one to be caught on camera!
This one is a little shy in front of the camera, but when you meet him you won’t be able to understand why. I promise.
Colin is the most comfortable Funeral Director I have ever met. In almost 50 years (can it be that long!!!) I have never met a Funeral Director who is so calm in this environment. We know that there is never a rehearsal for this event. It has to be prefect every time, and with Colin they always are.

Chris Wall FSO team

FSO is funeral service jargon for Funeral Service Operative. Nothing operates without these guys.

Chris is a dedicated and very useful member of staff with his prior experience in the vehicle industry. Look at him. If ever there was a cool calm and collected chap. This is him. When you see Chris at the wheel, or opening the door for you. You are in a safe place.

This is Gary. Great guy with a wealth of experience and knowledge in funeral service. Always dependable, painfully polite and dignified. I so glad to have him with us, and with his electrical installation experience, he makes another great addition to the team. Love that blue on you Gary.

We will have a picture of Ted soon. Ted is a very gentle soul, calm, kind, thoughtful. If Ted is there on your day, you can be assured of the most polite and kindly service you could imagine. Another dedicated member of the team.

Andy Batstone FSO team

Andy is our “big guy”. Sometimes you just need some extra height or weight or strength. We just call Andy! We don’t have a picture of him just yet, but when it comes he will be smiling! He always seems to be smiling. Ex military service Andy is our “point and go” chap. I do have one issue. I want my jet wash back Andy! Since he got his new one nobody, and I mean nobody is allowed to use it!

Andy Beckwith Funeral Planning Consultant

Funeral planning is a complicated area of funeral service these days. I used to be able to give advice, but now with the FCA involved even I, with nearly 50 years experience in the funeral service, am not allowed to do it. When you meet the team you will find Andy Beckwith. He will come to you or, if you prefer he will meet you in any of the offices. Andy is fully FCA accredited and can give options on the available funeral plans. This is for those who wish to pre-pay.

Family Funeral Service (Maidstone) Limited trading as Medway Funeral Directors is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279).
